  • Exciting and engaging lessons are based around our school vision of Old and New Horizons – ‘Pupils enjoy learning the subjects that they are taught’ Ofsted 2024

  • Our bespoke curriculum focuses on the local area and its history and traditions such as the local RAF links and the farming traditions

  • We are proud of our robust and consistent teaching approaches across the school for phonics via Read Write Inc, English with our Talk for Writing approach and Maths via our bespoke curriculum designed with the Maths consultant Jenny Cook

 

We provide a strong start for all children via our onsite Nursery and in our Reception class:

  • A dedicated EYFS setting including a spacious outdoor area able to be accessed all year round

  • Highly skilled staff are able to provide the playbased curriculum needed from age 3 upwards

  • Flexible timetables for our nursery children to suit the needs of families

 

We value learning beyond the curriculum:

  • We embrace enrichment opportunities such as school trips to London, the pantomime and sporting opportunities.

  • Leadership opportunities are provided for our children – Play leaders, Librarians, School council, worship council,

  • There are a wide range of clubs available including – Art, dance, sport, gardening, playground games, computing, movie club,

  • Individual talents are celebrated in line with our vision of ‘realising our gifts’

  • Music tuition is offered with 1:1 Piano lessons as well as whole school music tuition

  • Diversity is celebrated through our online platform Lyfta, via books, and in our choice of curriculum topics
